Our white pearl bowls are made by using a natural white paint wash that is 100% food safe. All of our hand finished bowls have some variations in color as wood tone can vary from tree to tree. Our white pearl bowls are most frequently made using oak which is a sought after hardwood known for being strong, heavy and straight-grained.
Our bowls are sustainably sourced, upcycled, and handcrafted in New England. Our white pearl nesting bowls range in size from 10” to 21”, and are an oval shape with a natural live edge.

Whether you’re seeking the perfect wedding gift or making an investment in your own kitchen, we offer a wide selection of handmade salad bowl and server sets to choose from. We make each set by hand in our Western MA workshops with sustainably, locally sourced wood and all natural, 100% food safe wood finishes. The best part? You can pair any of our large wooden salad bowls with the servers of your choice, to make a unique set that fits your style. The Peterman Family Promise We believe in upcycling – taking logs that are discarded, and making something beautiful out of them. Normally, local tree service companies would get rid of, chip up or make firewood out of decaying logs – and that’s where we come in. We embrace the natural decomposition that gives each of our wooden serving boards and bowls a distinctive character. We proudly use woods local to central New England: the Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont forests are a rich resource. Spencer is a master craftsman and artist, magically breathing new life into decomposing wood. Each of the wood accessories he creates has its own unique story, and is handcrafted here, in New England. We are honored to share our rich history of farmhouse kitchens, wooden bowls and craftsmanship with you. Browse hand turned wooden bowls for sale here today!
Apply mineral oil once a month to maintain the natural beauty of the wood, EXCEPT to products with our Driftwood, White Pearl, and Sea Glass finishes. These bowls are made with an acrylic food safe finish and should not be oiled.
Our mineral oil has a beeswax base that adds beauty and protection from everyday wear and tear. Beeswax conditioners help prevent wood from drying out as well as from absorbing too much moisture.
Prolonged exposure to water can cause damage; please do not submerge in water or place in the dishwasher.
Common mistakes include letting old fruit and vegetables rot at the bottom of a bowl (this may stain) and putting a bowl/board in the oven.
